Intuition is an independent driving school run by
Steve Hammerton, an experienced DSA Approved
Driving Instructor (Grade 5) with a background of
many years as a Metropolitan Police response driver. Additionally, I have been qualified by AA Driving School to train prospective driving instructors.

All lessons follow the DSA recommended structured tuition programme, leading to a safe, competent, defensive driving style as required by the DSA practical driving test. Lessons adapted to suit the learning style of individual pupils.

Tuition is conducted on a strictly one to one basis, with an outline strategy at the start and a review/debrief at the conclusion to assess progress. Topics covered and standard attained are documented in the pupil’s log book at the conclusion of each session.Two hour sessions are generally regarded as the most cost effective way of consolidating progress and can start/end at your home address, college or local place of work.

DSA support material in the form of the latest approved DVD and CD Rom is always available at no extra cost to assist pupils with both the theory and hazard perception tests.

Instruction is conducted in the latest highly acclaimed Daihatsu Sirion,
a compact car that adapts easily to all heights. It is remarkably easy to drive and manoeuvre. It comes with dual controls, air conditioning and electric everything!

Most students choose ‘Intuition’ following recommendations from the many previously satisfied customers, epitomized recently when a mother and then both her daughters all went on to pass their tests first time.

Tuition is not confined to new learners, but includes refreshers and specialist instruction following an accident, illness, driving ban or preparation for established non U.K. drivers to take the driving test
here. My eldest pupil to date is 83 and I have extensive experience
and success with nervous pupils who thought they would never ‘get through’. I can offer tuition in French or German if required.

Notable successes include a former accountant who is now an
AA Driving Instructor following a course of instructor tuition, a young
man who progressed to driving HGVs with the local authority and
a woman in her 50s who is now running her own mobile catering business having previously resigned herself to never learning to drive.
